Executive Team

  • Dr. Uri Geiger (Chairman of the Board )

    Dr. Geiger founded Exalenz and served as its CEO between 2006 and January 2009. He is the Chairman and founder of Accelmed, a leading medical device investment firm. Dr. Geiger is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully founded and sold three companies: Kirabo Inc. (sold to a Diamond Explorer), GalayOr Inc. (sold to MEMSCAP S.A.- Euronext: MEMS) and Tau Hedge Funds Management (partially sold to Migdal Capital Markets). Dr. Geiger has been involved in multiple investments in Israeli innovative medtech companies such as X-Technologies (acquired by Guidant), VisionSense, Medson (acquired by Imadent), and others.   Dr. Geiger is an adjunct professor at Tel Aviv Recanati Business School, where he lectures on private equity and venture capital in the International Program. He is the author of the books "Startup Companies and Venture Capital" (Tel Aviv University Press, 2001) and "From Concept to Wall Street" (Financial Times - Prentice Hall, 2003).
  • Steven Eitan (CEO)

    Mr. Eitan  brings to Exalenz more than 15 years of experience in management for internationally acclaimed technological companies including ECI Telecom (previously  NASDAQ: ECIL), NUR Macroprinters (previously NASDAQ: NURM),and Comverse (NASDAQ: CMVT). At ECI Telecom one of Israel`s largest high tech firms,  Mr. Eitan was responsible for supervising the Go to Market business activity with annual revenues of $700M. Additionally, he oversaw the entire international finance department. Prior to his work at ECI, Mr. Eitan served as the regional CFO for Asia Pacific and America at NUR Macroprinters  (now part of Hewlett Packard). Before that he served as VP Finance for the International Division at Comverse a global provider of telecom systems where he took part in increasing annual revenues from $350M to $600M during his tenure. Mr. Eitan holds a BA in economics and an MBA in business management from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
  • Prof. Yaron Ilan (M.D. Medical Director)

    Prof. Ilan is the former Chairman of the Israeli Association to the Study of the Liver. Professor Ilan is a graduate of the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem. Following his graduation in 1984, he worked at the Hadassah Medical Center and was appointed Chief Physician of the Liver and Gastroenterology Units there in 1995. In 2001 he was appointed Director of the Department of Internal Medicine A. From 1995-1997, Prof. Ilan engaged in postgraduate studies as a Research Fellow attached to the Liver Research Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. During that time, he was also a Fellow at the Division of Liver Transplantation and Liver Unit at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. In 1998, he was appointed Professor of Medicine at Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Prof. Ilan has more than 170 peer -reviewed publications.
  • Dennis Boyle (VP & US National Manager)

    Dennis Boyle, VP & National  Manager, comes to Exalenz with 23 years of sales and marketing experience in medical device equipment and consumables.He brings a track record of success in business operations and development ventures, sales and marketing strategies and national account management. As National Director of Sales and Marketing for the Physician`s Office Laboratory group of Siemens ,  Dennis grew revenues  from $3 Million to $175 Million. He brings vast industry expertise and has developed working relationships with over a dozen major medical distributors. In addition, he has been instrumental in developing and implementing training programs for national dealer networks.

    Dennis holds a master’s in Business Education and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University; a BA in Economics from Middlebury College; and Graduate Certifications in Negotiation from Harvard Law School and Public Speaking from Harvard Business School.

  • Pablo Halpern (VP Marketing)

    Mr. Halpern spent most of his years in sales & marketing positions, advancing from fieldwork to senior posts, including positions such as VP Global Marketing & Sales, Corporate VP, and General Manager Japan & ROW at Given Imaging (NASDAQ=GIVN), and Regional Marketing Manager at Laser Industries (Sharplan Lasers). In addition, he has vast experience as General Manager in start-up companies, growing them from early stages to sales or exit. These include General Manager at BarSpec (sold to BioRad), General Manager at Ultramind International Ltd, and COO at FlowMedic.    Mr. Halpern holds a B.Sc. in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Buenos Aires National University, Argentina, and studies in Biomedical Engineering at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.
  • Ilan Ben-Oren (Chief Technology Officer )

    Before joining Exalenz, Mr. Ben Oren held various positions from project manager to CTO at Oridion Medical (SWX:ORIDN). Before joining Oridion, Mr. Ben-Oren held various positions at Scitex Ltd., dealing with state-of-the-art electro-optical systems. Prior to that, he participated for five years in applied research at the laser center of Hadassah Ein-Kerem Hospital and the Hebrew University, and was involved in the "Nanomed" start-up from its beginning.    Mr. Ben-Oren is the author of numerous patents in the field of medical technologies and holds a master`s degree with special honors in applied physics and science of materials from Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Within the framework of his studies, he spent one year at Cornell University in New York State, where he conducted research in biophysics.
  • Mira Kremer (VP Regulatory, Clinical & QA )

    Ms. Kremer has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As VP of Product Development at Pharmos Ltd., she was responsible for managing the product-development team. In this position, she also took part in the regulatory submission of the IND, having the overall responsibility for QA on clinical, pre-clinical, and CMC activities and documentation. Ms. Kremer worked in a number of pharmaceutical companies including 20 years at Teva, Ltd. Her responsibilities included QA Management of the R&D department, managing the implementation of GMP regulations in R&D, and performing QA audits in Israel and abroad. Ms. Kremer participated in and led many submissions of ANDAs and the NDA of Copaxone, and participated in many FDA, MCA, and other health-authority inspections for registration and marketing of the company`s products.
