Dr. Uri Geiger
Chairman of the Board
Dr. Geiger is the founder of Exalenz Bioscience, taking the company public in 2007 and serving as its CEO until 2009 and as Chairman since then.
He is also the co-founder and managing partner of Accelmed, a leading medical device investment firm.
Dr. Geiger holds a Doctorate from New York’s Columbia University Center for Law and Economics, where he majored in global equity markets.
Raffi Werner has served as Exalenz Bioscience CEO since 2015. He first joined the company as COO in 2010. Prior positions include CEO of ODF Medical Ltd. and CEO of Operations for Lumenis Inc.
Raffi Werner holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University, and an EMBA from Kellogg-Recanati, a joint international program of Tel Aviv University and Northwestern University.
President & CFO
Roy Golan has served as Exalenz’s President and Chief Financial Officer since May 2018. Prior to joining Exalenz, Mr. Golan served as the Chief Financial Officer of Neuroderm Ltd. (NASDAQ: NDRM), a pharmaceutical company, from August 2015 to April 2018, and as Neuroderm’s Vice President of Finance from January 2014 to August 2015. During his tenure in Neuroderm, Mr. Golan had a pivotal role in their successful IPO on Nasdaq, two Follow-On Offerings and their acquisition by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharmaceutical Corporation for a total of US$1.1 billion. Mr. Golan is a registered CPA, holds a B.A. in Accounting and Business from the Israeli College of Management School of Business and an LL.M. in Law from Bar Ilan University.
Prof. Yaron Ilan, M.D.
Prof. Ilan has served as Medical Director of Exalenz Bioscience from its founding. He brings vast experience as the former Chairman of the Israeli Association for the Study of the Liver, with more than 170 peer-reviewed publications.
In 2001 Prof. Ilan was appointed Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at Hadassah Medical Center and serves as a Professor of Medicine at Hebrew University since 1998.
Prof. Ilan is a graduate of the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem.
Dr. Susan Alpert, M.D. PhD
Executive VP. Regulatory
Dr. Alpert joined as Exalenz Bioscience Executive VP in 2011, specializing in developing and implementing strategies for advancing medical devices in the global market.
Prior to joining Exalenz, Dr. Alpert was Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance at Medtronic. Before joining Medtronic, she held a number of positions with the FDA including a position as Director of the FDA’s Office of Device Evaluation.
Dr. Alpert holds an undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Sciences from New York University. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami.
VP Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance
Michal Hershkovitz serves as Exalenz’s VP Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance. She is a seasoned expert in global regulatory strategy and clinical studies management for medical device and pharmaceutical companies.
Ms. Hershkovitz has served as VP of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Medinol Ltd., overseeing the company’s global regulatory affairs, clinical development and operation activities. Prior to this, she spent 22 years at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., her last position being Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs & QA at the Innovative R&D division. In this capacity, Ms. Hershkovitz led the regulatory approval to market processes for Tevas’ innovative products. In addition, she acted as a leading partner in Teva’s and Medinols’ joint ventures with global enterprises including Lundbeck, Sanofi J&J, Cordis, Cardinal, and others.
Ms. Hershkovitz holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, an MBA program diploma from the University of Haifa, and a Regulatory Affairs diploma from the University of Wales.
Vice President Sales & Marketing
Prior to joining Exalenz, Mr. Doree served as the national director and the director of strategic accounts at Medivators Inc. (formerly Minntech Corporation), a leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing medical devices, specializing in patient safety, infection prevention and asset management technologies. As the national director of sales for Medivators in 2012-13, Mr. Doree managed sales of $35M US and was part of a leadership responsible for $157M US sales. He is also the former West Region director of sales at Byrne Medical, Inc., where, in 2009 he grew business by 36% for a total sales figure of more than $7 million. He repeated this success in 2010, when he further grew business by 23% for a total sales figure of more than $13 million. Mr. Doree also had strong success as territory manager at Parks Medical Corporation, where he helped the company to increase sales to the millions. Before pursuing a career in the medical field, Mr. Doree worked as an educator and athletic director in the State of Washington. He holds a BA in political science from the University of Washington and a masters in teaching from Whitworth University.
Vice President Research & Development
Mr. Schlesinger has over 20 years of experience in the Medical Device arena. He joined Exalenz in 2007 after serving as VP Products of Card Guard Ltd (SWX:LIFE) and lead several innovative projects in the Telemedicine devices (ECGs, Spiro-meters, Blood pressures) and supporting software platforms. Previously, Mr. Schlesinger served as R&D Project Manager at Bio-Rad Laboratories (NYSE:BIO) in the Clinical Diagnostics division developing applications and devices for Lab Auto-samplers. Mr. Schlesinger holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.
Vice President Global Operations
Mr. Blank joined Exalenz in 2007. He has over 15 years of international experience in capital equipment companies. Prior to joining Exalenz, Mr. Blank served as Director of Global Support Organization for Nova Measuring Instruments (NASDAQ: NVMI) a Semi-Conductors metrology equipment company, where he managed the company’s Global Customer Support operations at major industry manufacturers. Mr. Blank holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from the Recanati Executive MBA program of Tel Aviv University.
Vice President Supply Chain
Mr. Soae, has over 12 years of experience in production and service support management of multidisciplinary medical devices, FDA approved and ISO 13485. Mr.Soae first joined the company as director of production in 2006. Mr. Soae holds a B.A in Business administration from the open university of Israel.
